Samrat joined Water For People as the Business Opportunity Analyst in 2015, providing technical support to all Water For People’s sanitation initiatives in India. He is experienced with market testing of sanitation products and services such as the modified gulper, tiger toilets, polymeric membrane-based pit life extenders, modular toilets, and modular septic tanks. He is also trained in pit characterization with Ball-penetrometerscope and has conducted over 100 pit characterizations in rural West Bengal and Bihar. In addition to providing technical assistance, Samrat supports businesses and entrepreneurs to develop sanitation financing delivery mechanisms through microfinance institutions, federations, and farmer producer organizations. Samrat has helped businesses and the expansion of sanitation technologies throughout India by understanding and ensuring all necessary components of the value chain and market are addressed to maintain profitable and sustainable sanitation solutions.
Samrat has a Master’s in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal in India and a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication from Nagpur University in India.
