The Sustainable Services Checklist for Behavior Change in Service Providers
This technical note describes the exchange of experiences between District WASH Offices (known as DMSBs in Bolivia) of partner municipalities, specifically related to Water For People’s Sustainable Services Checklist with indicators and metrics for service providers. It denotes that some water and sanitation committees manage and dominate the indicators related to structure, finance, and operation and maintenance. This translates into an efficient management of financial aspects, as well as a solid structure, organization, and valuation of the operation and maintenance of the water system. These attitudes and practices reflect behavior change of the water and sanitation committees, and also shed light on the cultural barriers related to managing the sustainability of water and sanitation services.
