Pero uno podr\u00eda preguntarse: <em>&quot;\u00bfDeber\u00edamos continuar perforando m\u00e1s pozos mientras el n\u00famero de pozos no funcionales contin\u00faa aumentando?&quot;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mantener los sistemas de agua en \u00e1reas rurales funcionando para siempre, sin que las comunidades vuelvan a depender del apoyo material de ninguna organizaci\u00f3n externa, ha resultado ser dif\u00edcil de lograr. Sin embargo, esto representa uno de los principales logros de sostenibilidad que la mayor\u00eda de las organizaciones en el sector del agua pretenden lograr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si bien muchas organizaciones y gobiernos han invertido mucho en el dise\u00f1o <a href=\"https:\/\/thewashroom.waterforpeople.org\/es\/sustainable-water-service-provision-malawi\/\">modelos sostenibles<\/a> que empoderan a las comunidades para que sean propietarias y administren los sistemas de abastecimiento de agua rural, algunas organizaciones quieren que se las vea &#039;trabajando&#039; y, por lo tanto, como &#039;ni\u00f1eras&#039; de las comunidades. Con nobles intenciones, algunas organizaciones ben\u00e9ficas o personas generosas no solo han destruido las mismas comunidades a las que pretenden ayudar, sino que tambi\u00e9n han agotado sus recursos limitados que podr\u00edan haberse utilizado de manera m\u00e1s inteligente para apoyar a otras comunidades que necesitan desesperadamente agua segura y adecuada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante d\u00e9cadas, los expertos en el sector del agua han discutido y presentado diversas teor\u00edas sobre por qu\u00e9 la infraestructura de suministro de agua rural, especialmente los pozos, falla r\u00e1pidamente o deja de funcionar antes de su vida \u00fatil prescrita, lo que lleva a per\u00edodos prolongados de inactividad o incluso abandono. . Algunos expertos creen que la capacidad de una comunidad para llevar a cabo de manera eficaz el mantenimiento planificado del pozo y recaudar tarifas correctamente calculadas de los usuarios para comprar y reemplazar las partes desgastadas del pozo brinda un vistazo de un sistema de agua sostenido...<em>pero esto no articula completamente lo que motivar\u00e1 y equipar\u00e1 a una comunidad para mantener un pozo en funcionamiento en todo momento, para siempre.<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entonces, \u00bfc\u00f3mo podemos mejorar la propiedad comunitaria y la sostenibilidad de los sistemas de suministro de agua rural? Una simple intervenci\u00f3n practicada por comunidades rurales en el distrito de Chikwawa en Malawi parece estar brindando una soluci\u00f3n a esta antigua pregunta. Los bancos de pozos usan un modelo de negocios simple pero efectivo que permite a los usuarios de agua tomar prestada parte del fondo de mantenimiento del pozo, usarlo para sus propias actividades econ\u00f3micas y luego devolverlo a una tasa de inter\u00e9s acordada. Esto no solo multiplica los fondos para la operaci\u00f3n y el mantenimiento de los pozos, sino que tambi\u00e9n mejora los medios de vida econ\u00f3micos de los usuarios del agua en la comunidad. Si bien las consideraciones t\u00e9cnicas en la perforaci\u00f3n e instalaci\u00f3n de pozos siguen siendo vitales, la transformaci\u00f3n de un pozo en un epicentro econ\u00f3mico en la comunidad ha motivado a los usuarios a proteger sus pozos y asegurarse de que est\u00e9n en pleno funcionamiento en todo momento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El \u00e9xito de los bancos de pozos en las comunidades rurales del distrito de Chikwawa representa un gran hito hacia la sostenibilidad de la infraestructura de suministro de agua rural.
