Soy ingeniero civil de profesi\u00f3n y hace ocho a\u00f1os me un\u00ed al equipo de Water For People en Bolivia. Water For People es una organizaci\u00f3n no gubernamental cuya misi\u00f3n es llegar a todos con agua y saneamiento. En el modelo prima la equidad y la inclusi\u00f3n social, sin dejar a nadie atr\u00e1s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quiero contar mi historia dentro del mundo del desarrollo de agua y saneamiento en Bolivia, como un joven profesional con ganas de ganar experiencia.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do\u00f1a Vicenta<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • \"\"<\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

    Me sumerg\u00ed en el mar de necesidades de agua y saneamiento, y la primera historia que encontr\u00e9 es la de do\u00f1a Vicenta. Es una anciana ciega de la comunidad de Uchuci Cancha en el municipio de Tiraque. Esta mujer me cont\u00f3 sobre el viaje diario que hac\u00eda para sacar agua de un manantial en medio de la comunidad. Recorri\u00f3 unos dos kil\u00f3metros, lo que le llev\u00f3 unos 90 minutos de su tiempo. Caminaba cargando dos bidones de diez litros en su aguayo<\/em>1<\/sup>, una lata de cinco litros en una mano y un bast\u00f3n en la otra. El bast\u00f3n es su gu\u00eda para recorrer ese largo camino, con obst\u00e1culos por el terreno y, m\u00e1s a\u00fan, la dificultad de no ver. La necesidad de agua supera las limitaciones f\u00edsicas de Do\u00f1a Vicenta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Con un nudo en la garganta, continu\u00e9 el trabajo con el compromiso moral de mejorar la calidad de vida de Do\u00f1a para que tuviera mejores d\u00edas. Luego del trabajo t\u00e9cnico y social en coordinaci\u00f3n con la Direcci\u00f3n Municipal de Saneamiento de Tiraque, se valid\u00f3 el proyecto identificando a todas las familias que son residentes permanentes de la comunidad. El proyecto se ejecut\u00f3 con un sistema mixto de agua, incluyendo obra de captaci\u00f3n, sistema de bombeo a un tanque de almacenamiento en la parte alta de la comunidad y conexiones domiciliarias con micromedidor, garantizando as\u00ed la sostenibilidad del sistema de agua. Actualmente todas las familias de la comunidad de Uchuchi Cancha tienen acceso al agua sin importar su condici\u00f3n f\u00edsica, social o la ubicaci\u00f3n topogr\u00e1fica de su vivienda. Siempre habr\u00e1 una soluci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica para proporcionar agua, ya sea a trav\u00e9s de un sistema de tuber\u00edas, un manantial protegido o mediante la recolecci\u00f3n de agua de lluvia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Yacu Runas <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    En Convento Pampa, una comunidad del municipio de Arani, me encontr\u00e9 con otra historia. Un matrimonio de ancianos que, a pesar de su edad, participaba en obras comunitarias junto con las dem\u00e1s familias de la comunidad. Si te preguntas qu\u00e9 motiv\u00f3 a esta pareja de ancianos de 80 a\u00f1os a realizar trabajos de excavaci\u00f3n, es simplemente el deseo de tener un grifo de agua justo en su propiedad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • \"\"<\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

      Despu\u00e9s de varios d\u00edas de trabajo y cansancio, la comunidad decidi\u00f3 realizar el acto de inauguraci\u00f3n del sistema de agua en la casa del matrimonio de ancianos. Luego de las palabras de agradecimiento de las autoridades, hubo una escena que qued\u00f3 grabada en mi mente. Fue algo que quiz\u00e1s pas\u00f3 desapercibido para los dem\u00e1s, y fue ver la alegr\u00eda de la pareja de ancianos al abrir el grifo y\u2026 \u00a1guau! Lo que para ellos era inalcanzable sali\u00f3 disparado: un chorro de agua. Al mismo tiempo, las l\u00e1grimas de la anciana cayeron, haciendo brillar sus ojos, ya cansados por los a\u00f1os. Con las manos arrugadas, llev\u00f3 el primer chorro de agua a su rostro para refrescar su piel. Estaba claramente complacida de tener un grifo en la propiedad a sus m\u00e1s de 80 a\u00f1os. Pero no fueron solo sus ojos los que se ba\u00f1aron en l\u00e1grimas, sino tambi\u00e9n los que pudimos sentir su gratitud al ver salir el agua del grifo. ella nos llamo yacu runas<\/em> (hombre de agua) y termin\u00f3 diciendo: "Gracias a ti, tengo agua".<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Sin duda, el trabajo de agua y saneamiento es apasionante. Es reconfortante ayudar a mejorar la calidad de vida de muchas familias y lograr que todas las personas del planeta cuenten con servicios de agua y saneamiento. Esto debe ser lo que nos mueva a todos a trabajar con el objetivo de alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), especialmente el que m\u00e1s me apasiona: el ODS 6. <\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
